Platform Lab offers gigabit access to OSCnet
Non-profit IT test facility now provides clients with
a gigabit of bandwidth on the super-scale research network.
Platform Lab now enables Ohio businesses with gigabit-speed access to OSCnet - the nation's leading super-scale fiber optic research network. This upgrade will be a significant advantage for Platform clients in need of short-term testing, measuring and validating high-bandwidth applications.

OSCnet details
Platform Lab will have the unique capability to provide up to a gigabit of bandwidth on-demand, allocated per Megabit,
per day, per client at a non-profit rate. The Platform Lab network upgrade will allow them to offer up to 1 Gb of
connectivity, with 350 Mb VPNs and bandwidth can be ordered on-demand at a per Mb, per day, per client rate of $12.
Platform Lab may allocate bandwidth for short-term test projects only, for all types of clients.
In essence, the addition of OSCnet access will make it easier and affordable for Ohio businesses to conduct high-bandwidth load testing, bandwidth optimization projects or test distributed applications over high bandwidth networks. Through Platform Lab, commercial firms and other organizations can accurately gauge the value of higher-bandwidth solutions, calibrate bandwidth needs, 'right-size' anticipated capacity, and then purchase appropriate bandwidth to perform critical business functions such as distributed data sharing, Web services access for direct sales and employee access to information.
"By upgrading to OSCnet connectivity, Platform now provides yet another tool that historically has been hard to find or hard to afford," says Platform Lab Director Steve Gruetter. "Our clients can leverage OSCnet to understand their bandwidth needs better and save time and money with that business knowledge."
The Platform Lab network upgrade is the next logical step in the growth of the non-profit company and now Platform Lab's Cleveland location also offers OSCnet access.
