TechColumbus: Accelerating Tech-based Business. Advancing Central Ohio.
TechColumbus -- www.techcolumbus.org -- was formed when the Columbus Technology Council (CTC) merged with the Business Technology Center (BTC) in 2005, and began a collaborative relationship with The Ohio State University's Science and Technology Campus Corporation (SciTech). TechColumbus has leveraged the incubation functions, advocacy and networking opportunities, and technologyrelated real estate development services that these three entities provided and has become the catalyst for technology-based economic development in central Ohio.
TechColumbus works with the business community, the public sector,
research institutions and entrepreneurs to identify and advance technology-based
economic initiatives, eliminate barriers to collaboration, and secure
the financial and other resources needed to accelerate technology-driven
economic development. TechColumbus carries out its mission through strategic
advocacy, a robust member services program, world-class business formation
and incubation services and facilities, capital formation, and technology-related
real estate development.
TechColumbus membership is open to all organizations that contribute to the group's
mission and vision. Members include information technology, life science and
manufacturing companies, professional service organizations, schools, government agencies,
and retired senior executives of technology-based businesses.
Currently, more Ohio companies - including Wendy's International, BankOne, the Ohio State University, and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services - have recognized the value of conducting disaster recovery drills, load testing, multi-platform testing, proof-of-concept testing and more at the Platform Lab facility because they were able to control spending without compromising project timing, equipment, software, or security.
