Platform Lab reports breakthrough year(Columbus, OH) -- Platform Lab, a non-profit information technology testing and training facility located in Columbus and Cleveland, has had a breakthrough year in 2005, bringing in nearly double its revenue projections and providing a growing suite of services that has had a significant local and national impact. To realize this success, Platform has leveraged greatly improved hardware and network capabilities and absolutely delivered on its mission to be a powerful and innovative Ohio resource that helps companies test IT solutions with minimum investment. Platform Lab posted revenues that were 183% of its projected goal for 2005. And the recognition and reach of Platform Lab is growing. While Platform has had banner success stories with Ohio companies -- the facility has made significant impact on the Ohio healthcare industry in overcoming HIPAA regulations in relation to Disaster Recovery -- almost half of Platform Lab's revenue came from out-of-state firms. National firms have come to Platform Lab in order to take advantage of the testing capabilities of the Third Frontier Network as well as Platform Lab's proven cost advantage. In all, Platform Lab is truly a strong representation of how investment in Ohio IT resources can result in out-of-state dollars flowing to Ohio. "There are two very positive outcomes from this achievement, says Steve Gruetter, Director at Platform Lab. "First, it validates the support provided by the State of Ohio; that if we invest in Ohio technology resources, it will draw business and revenue from around the country. Secondly, the additional revenue that we receive from this high level of utilization will allow us to continue to reinvest in newer and better IT hardware. That, in turn, will continue to make Platform Lab a better resource for Ohio firms and organizations; and much more quickly than anticipated." And finally, as another symbol of success, Platform Lab was a finalist nominee to receive the Columbus Technology Council's TopCAT Award for "Outstanding Service" and Platform Lab Director Steve Gruetter was nominated for Ernst & Young's "Entrepreneur of the Year" in their IT category.
