8:00 AM

"From Med School Dropout to Dot Com Entrepreneur "

Hosted by: The Circuit

How do you take your IT invention to market, satisfy customers' demands and propel a company to millions in revenue?

Ajay Goel, President of JangoMail, will be discussing this on October 17th. Be sure to attend and learn some tips for success in your own business.

-My decision to drop out of my med school program and start a tech company with no obvious real objectives.
-The early years: why my previous dot com ventures failed
-How I went from one dot com failure to another until I finally found my niche, and without raising (or needing) a single penny of outside capital.
-And how one dot com failure after another were stepping stones to my one and only dot come success - JangoMail.

Ajay Goel, 29, was living with his parents in 2000 when he created the first version of JangoMail as a side project for a client who needed a web-based e-mail marketing solution. Because he had a computer and no overhead, Ajay was able to fine-tune the product, then take it to market.

JangoMail Ranked Number 972 in Inc. Magazine's Second Annual Inc. 5000 Listing - one of the fastest-growing private companies in America by Inc. Magazine!

JangoMail is a web-based e-mail broadcasting and marketing system that allows companies to create, send and track e-mail campaigns.JangoMail has grown mostly through referrals, networking and search engine advertising, landing clients like the American Cancer Society and Nokia.

"How To Succeed In The 2008 Negotiation"

Hosted by: The Circuit

This educational discussion will focus on the evolution of negotiation and focus on how to "Blueprint a Negotiation":

-allow you to best position your solutions, your value and build your relationships without the usual significant hit to your profit margins
-apply the blueprint to an actual live negotiation that you are already involved

Professional negotiation has never been more critical than it is today. Yet, how successful are you?

Clearly, the buying/procurement side of the best is far more prepared and successful in negotiation that than the selling side. What is your response? Negotiation has evolved. No longer is negotiation defined as a skill and use of tricks and manipulation, especially if you hope to maintain a healthy, long term relationship with client. Professional negotiation today is a best practice blueprint that focuses on the process, not the tricks of the past.

Jay Shephard brings over 20 years of sales, sales management, ROI coaching and executive consulting experience, plus, extensive experience in the Sales Process, Negotiation & Channel Strategy arena and as a Consultant to top tier Clients selling & negotiating complex Hardware & Services solutions on a global basis.

11/13/2008   Secure State - Data Security in the PCI “Foodchain” - Cleveland, Ohio
1:00 PM

Maximize Your Compliance and Minimize PCI Liability.

Hosted by: BlueBridge Networks

Sponsors:
SecureState, Calfee, Halter & Griswold and BlueBridge Networks

If you’ve ever dealt with PCI, you know that is very different from other regulations and standards you’ve dealt with. Most of those unfortunate to deal with it know just how much security it requires, how technical it is, and its breadth and depth. It is also very different as a prescriptive approach and not a risk-based approach. But perhaps what makes it more interesting is who needs to do it (other than merchants and banks) and why we need to do it.

As a private standard, PCI is driven through contract and has some legal issues that need understood, especially with third parties like hosting companies and software vendors. It also means more and more companies are being affected by this standard.

Finally, as breaches and non-compliance cases are continuing to occur, we are even seeing emerging types of liability that change how organizations need to be prepared such as “third party beneficiary theory”.

During this presentation, we are going to discuss the ‘foodchain’ for PCI and what organizations must understand to help maximize their compliance and minimize their PCI efforts and liability.

Speaker/s:
- Matthew T. Davis - SecureState Practice Lead:
Audit and Compliance CISSP, CISA, GSEC, QDSP
- Daniel J. McMullen, Esq., Partner, Calfee
- Karl S. Beus, Esq., Partner, Calfee
- Kevin J. Goodman, Managing Director, BlueBridge Networks, LLC

11/14/2008   The Circuit - "Tastes Great--Less Filling"
1:30 PM

"Tastes Great--Less Filling" - Enabling IT Service Management Excellence through Business Process Management (BPM)

Hosted by: The Circuit-Cincinnati
Sponsored by: MetaStorm

In today’s economic conditions, IT Organizations are toiling with less budget and greater demands placed on them by their business customers. An architecture, approach, and technology solution that addresses both internal IT process optimization demands and requirements needed to deliver services, as well as business customer demands and requirements, would seem to be an optimal and natural answer.

In 2007, Forrester Research identified Business Process Management (BPM) as the #1 priority for IT Executives for improving and demonstrating IT/Business alignment and for addressing a common architecture, approach and technology that both IT and the business could benefit.

We will discuss how:
- IT Service Management based on ITIL Best Practices is quickly establishing itself in the United States, and is already common practice in the United Kingdom, Europe and other parts of the world
-other IT organizations have first looked at their own processes and have benefitted considerably from Service Management and Process enablement through Business Process Management techniques
- this exciting solution and approach can be leveraged into your IT organization, resulting in huge savings to your budget, and even greater value to your business customers

11/17/2008   OSUMC Center for IT Innovations in Healthcare
8:00 AM

From clinical diagnostics to personal health records, from human genomics to targeted therapeutics, and from computer order entry to real-time decision support, the healthcare industry has never before been so intricately connected with the developments in the information technology industry.

As the healthcare industry is embarking on an exciting journey to develop a prospective, preventive, and personalized approach to health care delivery, the development of innovative and powerful IT tools and resources is even more crucial.

It is against the backdrop of such dynamic developments in healthcare information technology that the Ohio State University Center for IT Innovations in Healthcare presents its second annual “Healthcare IT Innovation Summit.” Industry trendsetters, academic thought leaders, and other pioneers in healthcare IT are invited to explore questions such as:

* What effect does consumer-driven healthcare have on leveraging technology resources?
* What are the strategies behind unleashing the true power of technology innovation in health care?
* What do patients really want tomorrow and how can technology respond?
* Most importantly, what effective models foster academic and industry collaboration in consumer-driven healthcare IT innovations?
