05/04/2010   VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage Class at Platform Lab

  Platform Lab hosts numerous VMWare training classes, most are taught by one of VMware's preferred national trainers, J.D. Corder.

These classes will run from 05/04/10 - 05/07/10 Tuesday-Friday from 9am-5pm and are held in the quiet, comfortable Platform Lab training room. This hands-on training course explores installation, configuration, and management of VMware Infrastructure vSphere, which consists of VMware vSphere Server and VMware VirtualCenter. Upon completion of this course, you can take the examination to become a VMware Certified Professional. The course has been updated to reflect VMware vSphere Server.

Students who complete this course should enroll next in VMware Infrastructure 3: Deploy, Secure, and Analyze.

At the end of the course, you should gain an understanding of the functionality in VMware Infrastructure 3 and be able to:
* Install ESX Server
* Configure ESX Server networking and storage
* Install and configure VirtualCenter
* Control user access to the VMware infrastructure
* Deploy and manage virtual machines using VirtualCenter
* Allocate and monitor virtual machines resources
* Ensure high availability of applications

If your organization is exploring use of this outstanding tool, you need solid training to take full advantage.   CentraComm, a leading managed IT security and service provider, will host its fourth regional IT networking and movie premiere event with a focus on cloud computing and security on Friday, May 7 in Perrysburg, Ohio, near Toledo.   TechColumbus and ScrapComputer.com are hosting a computer recycling event at TechColumbus on May 7th. You can drop off your old equipment at TechColumbus between 8 AM and 5 PM. A truck will be available in the parking lot from 1 pm to 4 pm for easy unloading directly from your car. Please join us by recycling your old, outdated electronics.

Items accepted for recycling include

* All types of PC, Server, Laptop, Midrange, Mainframe regardless of age or condition, working and non working, complete or incomplete units.
* All UI devices including Dumb Terminals, Standard Monitors, Plasma and others regardless of age or condition.
* All power supplies regardless of age or condition.
* All mass storage devices including Tape Drives, SCSI devices, Optical Drives together with media regardless of size, age or condition.
* All types of Printer (Dotmatrix, Laser, Inkjet, Bubble-jet etc) Fax, Scanner, Photocopier, and Shredder regardless of age, size or condition. This included used toner cartridges and paper.
* All types of Hub, Router, Switch regardless of age, condition, size or technology.
* All cable, wiring, racking, clean-room equipment, generators, batteries (all types).
* All telecom equipment including switches of all sizes (AXE-10 to PABX) and all telecom related equipment including handsets of all types and 2-way radio.

      The Central Ohio Agile Association (COHAA), central Ohio’s fastest growing organization for Agile professionals, is holding its first annual “The Path to a•gil•i•ty” conference. This day-long event will be held on May 27, 2010 at the Arena Grand Theatre in Columbus, Ohio. “The Path to a•gil•i•ty” offers opportunities for IT and Business professionals to learn about nationwide trends in Agile software delivery, and the value organizations can realize by adopting this methodology.
